Had a conversation with a prominent liqueur collector and retailer in HK who has been collecting since the early 1980s and been invited to all these big Cognac houses in France. I raised a question about Hennessy Extra from the 70s or earlier he told me when Hennessy introduced the Extra there were very few drinkers and production were small but later replaced it with the lower quality Paradis and then years later re-introduce the same Extra as Richard Hennessy in order to compete with Louis XIII.
One day I will sell one of my kidneys and buy a Paradis.
There is my nonno's wine press in the background, rotting away, shame on 100y history it had, and my grandfater had it shedded up to 2004. The worst thing we done is donating it to LillyPilly Wines which they said at the time well look after it. NOPE! It should of went to the Italian Museum in Griffith NSW where it would be preserved,

The real reason the Hunter Valley wine industry is what it is, is it’s an hour and a half drive from Sydney.
